Shenzhen New Frontier United Family Hospital selected as one of the service points for Hong Kong elderly medical vouchers

On February 19th, the Hong Kong Medical and Health Bureau announced the scope of use of the second batch of Hong Kong elderly medical vouchers (hereinafter referred to as "medical vouchers") in mainland China. Shenzhen New Frontier United Family Hospital (hereinafter referred to as "Shenzhen United Family") has been included in the list, and eligible Hong Kong elderly can use medical vouchers at Shenzhen United Family, giving Hong Kong elderly who live or frequently travel to Shenzhen an additional option for medical treatment.

Co founder and founder of New Wind Tianyu CEO、 United Family Healthcare CEO Wu Qinan said, "We are very pleased that Shenzhen United Family Healthcare has become one of the pilot programs for medical vouchers in the Greater Bay Area. We thank the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government's Medical and Health Bureau, Guangdong Province, and Shenzhen Municipal Health Commission for their trust and support. The original intention of medical vouchers is to encourage the elderly to pay more attention to health protection. We will cooperate to do a good job in basic healthcare for the elderly, and hope to provide additional convenient medical choices while alleviating some of the medical pressure in Hong Kong

Under the medical voucher scheme, individuals aged 65 or above who hold a valid Hong Kong ID card or a Certificate of Exemption from Registration issued by the Immigration Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government can use the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government's annual medical voucher amount of HKD 2000 (up to a maximum cumulative amount of HKD 8000) to assess the medical needs of the elderly and use it to pay for government designated Shenzhen United Family Clinic medical services. It is reported that starting from the third quarter of 2024, elderly people holding medical vouchers can start using them at Shenzhen United Family Healthcare.

As a comprehensive private hospital based in Shenzhen and connected to the Hong Kong Xiyu Medical Center under the New Wind Tianyu umbrella, with medical services covering the Greater Bay Area, Shenzhen United Family Hospital has been providing suitable medical services for Hong Kong patients since its establishment. With accumulated experience and internationally recognized "Hong Kong style medical services", as well as a team of Hong Kong professional doctors regularly stationed in Shenzhen for consultations, it can benefit more elderly people in Hong Kong, allowing them to enjoy professional, comfortable, and non crowded "one-stop" personalized health management services in Shenzhen.

Xiao Yihuang, Chief Operating Officer of New Frontier Tianyu Greater Bay Area, stated that the charging standards for Hong Kong medical vouchers are on par with the hospital's own fees and may introduce discounted packages for elderly medical vouchers. The relevant departments in Hong Kong will also conduct regular spot checks and evaluations of medical voucher usage data to monitor the expansion of hospital medical vouchers and ensure standardized medical behavior. The hospital will fully cooperate with the implementation of medical vouchers in our hospital to ensure the smooth launch of various services.

In order to cater to the medical habits of Hong Kong people, the hospital has equipped doctors and nurses who speak Cantonese and added service windows for Hong Kong people; At the same time, bilingual reports in Chinese and English are available to facilitate Hong Kong residents' return to Hong Kong for medical treatment. The hospital offers 26 specialized services including general practice, health management, dentistry, and internal and external medicine.
