The Hong Kong government announced today (19th) the "Elderly Health Voucher Greater Bay Area Pilot Scheme", expanding the scope of application of the elderly health voucher to up to 5 general hospitals and 2 dental medical institutions. It is expected that services will be gradually launched in the third quarter of this year. One of the newly added institutions is Shenzhen New Frontier United Family Hospital. Xiao Yihuang, Executive Director of the affiliated group New Frontier Tianyu and Chief Operating Officer of the Greater Bay Area, said that currently about 10% to 20% of Hong Kong people come to the hospital for treatment, and it is expected that the Greater Bay Area medical voucher can increase it to 30% to 40%. He also pointed out that the hospital plans to provide package discounts for patients using elderly medical vouchers, and the details are still under discussion with the Hong Kong government, with discounts ranging from 20% to 30% cheaper.

According to Xiao Yihuang, Executive Director of Shenzhen New Wind United Family Hospital and Chief Operating Officer of the Greater Bay Area, about 10% to 20% of Hong Kong people come to the hospital for treatment, many of whom are elderly. Some elderly people have also expressed their hope to use medical vouchers for payment, so it is expected that the proportion of Hong Kong people can increase to 30% to 40% after the implementation of the Greater Bay Area medical voucher.
He also pointed out that in order to make medical treatment for Hong Kong people more reassuring and smooth, half of the hospital staff can speak Cantonese, including front desk staff, doctors, and nurses, and a service window for Hong Kong people has been added. He also pointed out that elderly people in Hong Kong usually go to their affiliated hospitals to receive physical examinations, dental and colonoscopy services, and many of them come together as a family for physical examinations. He revealed that he is currently discussing with the Hong Kong government to launch package discounts for elderly people who use medical vouchers, and the discounts may be 20-30% cheaper.
