Visit the hospital for medical treatment

Doctors will determine whether the treatment and testing methods fall within the scope of direct payment based on the diagnosis results:
- Belonging to the scope of direct payment: hospitals apply for pre-approval on behalf of patients
- Not within the scope of direct payment: Customers need to pay the fees themselves (or choose to pay and claim compensation)

Customers need to be aware of the following before visiting:
1. Inpatient surgery/day surgery/ daycase  Direct payment service: After the customer visits the clinic, if they need to receive free data services, they need to fill in the form PA  The form shall be submitted by the hospital to the insurance company for pre-approval application.
2. Second diagnosis and treatment opinion service for cancer: Customers need to receive medical advice via email before seeking treatment hkcare@manulife.com Or call to Manulife  Submit an application, and the insurance company will assist in completing the appointment and inform the customer of the eligibility instructions via email.
3. Cancer Day Service: Customers need to send emails before seeking medical treatment hkcare@manulife.com Or call to Manulife  Submit an application; After the application, Manulife  Distribute the letter of identification; Customers are required to present this confirmation letter during their medical visit, and after their first visit, the hospital will apply for pre-approval from the insurance company.

Pre approval

- The hospital submits a pre-approval application to the insurance company (usually completed within 3 working days after receiving complete materials for routine cases)

- The insurance company provides feedback on the approval results to the hospital and issues an approval form

- The hospital promptly notifies customers of the approval results

Receive treatment

After pre-approval, customers can receive treatment at the hospital, and the service scope is consistent with the "direct payment service scope" mentioned above.

Expense settlement

- Customer pays out of pocket amount (if any)

- Sign and confirm to leave the hospital

 
3. Claims and Identification

1. Claims materials: Required to provide Manulife  Claims application form, guarantee letter, admission record, medical record homepage, discharge summary, all examination reports and bills.
2. Identity recognition: Customers need to log in by themselves when seeking medical treatment Manulife portal, Present insurance information including name, insurance product name, and policy number to the front desk.
