The Medical and Health Bureau announced today (19th) the expansion of the use of elderly medical vouchers in mainland China, adding 5 mainland hospitals and 2 dental clinics, including Shenzhen New Frontier United Family Hospital. Co founder and founder of New Wind Tianyu CEO、 United Family Healthcare CEO Wu Qinan said that he is very pleased that Shenzhen United Family Healthcare has become one of the pilot healthcare vouchers in the Greater Bay Area, and will cooperate with the government to do a good job in basic healthcare for the elderly. He hopes to provide additional convenient medical options and alleviate some of the medical pressure in Hong Kong. Xiao Yihuang, Chief Operating Officer of New Frontier Tianyu Greater Bay Area, revealed that a discount package for elderly medical vouchers may be launched.

 

Elderly people who are currently over 65 years old and hold a valid Hong Kong identity card or an Immigration Department Exemption Certificate can use an annual medical voucher of 2000 yuan, with a cumulative limit of 8000 yuan. Wu Qinan stated that after discussing and evaluating the medical needs of the elderly, they will be able to use medical vouchers to pay for the outpatient medical services provided by Shenzhen United Family Hospital. The plan is expected to start in the third quarter of this year.

 

He continued to say that as a comprehensive private hospital based in Shenzhen, connected to the Hong Kong Xiyu Medical Center under the New Wind Tianyu umbrella, and with medical services covering the Greater Bay Area, Shenzhen United Family Hospital has been providing appropriate medical services for Hong Kong patients since its establishment, accumulating certain experience. In order to cater to the medical habits of Hong Kong people, the hospital has equipped doctors and nurses who speak Cantonese and added service windows for Hong Kong people; At the same time, bilingual reports in Chinese and English are available for Hong Kong residents to connect with medical treatment upon returning to Hong Kong.

Xiao Yihuang, Chief Operating Officer of New Frontier Tianyu Greater Bay Area, stated that the medical voucher fee standard is on par with the hospital's own fees, and a discount package for elderly medical vouchers may be launched. The details are still under discussion with the SAR government.

 

He also pointed out that elderly people in Hong Kong usually go to their hospitals for physical examinations, dental services, etc. He hopes that the proportion of Hong Kong people who receive services at hospitals this year can increase from 10-20% in the past to 30-40%.
